No matter how closed down! Germany will be nationalized by natural gas giants!

According to reports, the German government will have a national -owned energy giant Uniper 98.5%of its capital, and its main shareholder Finland Fortum Group announced in Helsinki that it is difficult to operate due to the decrease in Russian natural gas supply.

The company stated in a statement that at the end of the German government and Fortum, Germany will purchase 56% of Fortum’s capital at a price of about 500 million euros and make capital increase of 8 billion euros. Fortum is currently suspended on the Helsinki Stock Exchange until the negotiations are completed.

Affected by the significant reduction of Russian natural gas supply, UNIPER lost 12.418 billion euros in the first six months of 2022, compared with 20 million euros in the same period last year.

Uniper is the largest Russian natural gas buyer in Germany and is at the core of this energy crisis. Experts speculate that nationalization is to prevent the collapse of the German energy industry.
